Old Septic System

A common misconception with installing septic systems is the new system can not go in the same location as the existing failing septic. In this picture you can see a portion of the old system on the side of the hole. Underneath the contaminated old system is nice clean gravel which will be used as the base for the new leaching field that will be installed tomorrow. Also, a little advice to all homeowners, don’t plant any trees near your leaching field.  This system shown in the picture above failed because tree roots clogged the pipes in the leaching field resulting in a failing title 5 inspection.
