Tricky Title 5 Inspection in Norton
In order to pass a title 5 inspection in Massachusetts the leaching field can’t be located in the water table. The distribution box shown above passed with flying colors, but the leaching field itself is dangerously close to being in the water table. We hand dug a hole near the leaching field and found standing water at 46″ and estimated the bottom of the leaching field to be 43″. This is too close of a measurement to pass or fail the title 5 inspection, so the town of Norton heath inspector recommended that a hole be excavated and report be filed by a soil evaluator. This will give us an accurate reading of the water table and a correct verdict on this Title 5 dilemma.
